everybody wants to go to japan

me and my sister sara made some sushi! those rolls in the front are salmon rolls, the other rolls are california rolls and those weird looking things in the back are tamagoyakis.

we eat sushi quite often with sara but always in a restaurant. since this was our first time making them we weren't expecting anything mind blowing but guess what, they turned out to be as yummy as in a japanese restaurant! with the right ingredients and little sleight of hand they are easy and fun to make!

i just wanted to show you my idea of heaven. me and my friend paula went to benford's few days ago. oh my, what a place! treat afrter treat from usa, england, australia etc.

what does the world know about finland? and us finns? i don't know if it's a common belief or just our own saying that we are the shell suit people. anyway, that is so not true!

have you ever visited the site hel looks? i think that is enough to proof my point right.

the idea is simpe: two people with camera take a picture every time they see a person that they think have a original style. pictures are mainly taken in streets and clubs of helsinki but also in festivals/happenings etc. like liisa jokinen ans sampo karjalainen say with their own words "the project is a tribute to fruits and street magazines, the pioneers of street fashion photography."

i'm telling you; this is truly worth visiting if you haven't alreay!

eight days a week is not enough to show i care

one of my good friends turned 19 and i wanted to express my love by baking something good for her! after a long speculation i end up to do carrot cupcakes. yummy!

so here they are! cute, huh?

they were perfect for my situation because i was able to make them a day before the big day. they only got more delicious after a night in the fridge.

i also made a box for them using an old shoe box and this wrapping paper. sorry about the mess :---D i'm not so keen on cleaning..

here is the box ready and filled to be given to the b-day girl! easy, cheep but still snazzy!

i don’t know much but i know this for certain

i've said before how awesome i think lily allen is and how much i've been waiting her to come to finland. well, last weekend it finally happened! she performed at flow festivat here in helsinki.

here's my friend Menni and me excited to see lily! we saw many great artist like jenny wilson , frida hyvönen, yann tiersen, le corps mince de françoise and nitin sawhney but lily was number one.

i was right in front of the stage but it was hard to take pictures so i only took few. plus if i'm photographing i can't focus to the essential thing; lily, music, dancing, bouncing and all..

her back was hurting so she couln't dance but it was ok. i did dance. a lot.

IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! i mean the whole weekend was. i love my friends! if you combine them with good music (and a drop of alcohol) you have a killer combination!

i did some berry picking today!

i'm a city girl from head to toes but sometimes it's relaxing just to chill and eat redcurrants fresh from the bush. maybe suburbs aren't that bad.. for like a day or something. after that they just get boring.

i love eating good food, i love to serve it to people and i love making it. basically: i love cooking. i'm like monica from friends. i want to be the perfect host. always.

i made these greek stuffed tomatoes with feta cheese and fresh mint few weeks ago when i was home alone.

it was my first time making these myself. my mom makes them sometimes, but she never let me help. however, they turned out to be quite easy to make and yummy as hell. i served them to my sister and her boyfriend.

i would of post the recipe but i don't usually use one when i'm cooking. only when i'm baking and it's important to use the exact amounts of ingredients.

i found these full leather shoes at a flea market. they fit me perfectly and they look oh, so cute.

my favorite shoe brand is vagabond and i think these shoes have kind of same look as their shoes.

best for last; i paid 2€ (2,8$) for them. not bad, ha!

i love helsinki every moment of the year. but there's just something extra lovable about it in the summer. you know when the sun is shining, people are relaxed, turists are wandering everywhere and you can buy fresh cherries on you'r way to the beach.

this is my friend K. we had a picnic at töölönlahti and all of the sudden she wanted to roll in the grass. love it. this is actually taken by my friend paula.

my sister and i bought some peas and ate them at the harbour about 10pm. one thing i love about summer is that evenings are never dark.

i baked a cake! we had a "friends night" which means that we watched friends up to the small hours of the morning. it was not my idea to write "friends!" on the top of it.. luckily it still tasted damn good.

these are just few memories that i'm gona miss when it's winter. of course i can always bake a cake!
